What is NDIS?
Principles and Objectives
- Inclusivity and Accessibility: Ensure that people with disabilities have equal opportunities and access to services and can participate fully in all aspects of societal life.
- Empowerment and Choice: Provide individuals with the autonomy to choose and control their support, fostering independence and allowing them to lead fulfilling lives.
- Economic and Social Integration: Foster economic participation by supporting individuals in work and community activities, promoting societal contributions and a sense of belonging.
- Investment for Future: Recognise that timely and early interventions can often lead to better long-term outcomes, emphasising investing in individual futures.
- Collaboration and Partnership: Work with individuals, families, carers, and the broader community to co-design and continuously improve services and policies for optimal support.
